Josef Coresh, MD, PhD

Bio

Josef Coresh, MD, PhD, Professor Emeritus at the Johns Hopkins University Bloomberg School of Public Health, is the founding director of the Optimal Aging Institute at the NYU Grossman School of Medicine and a Professor of Population Health and Medicine. Coresh serves as the co-principal investigator of the Aging and Cognitive Health Evaluation in Elders (ACHIEVE) study and works closely with center faculty exploring data from the Atherosclerosis Risk in Communities Study (ARIC) to investigate the relationships between hearing loss and other health variables. He is a recognized leader in the epidemiology of kidney disease, big data and biomarker research which has impacted clinical practice guidelines and policies.
