Bio

Gebre is an experienced Otolaryngologist with over 4 years of expertise in otologic surgery, audiology, and patient care. 

Currently pursuing a Master of Public Health degree at Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health, Gebre has previously worked in both Liberia and Ethiopia, where she held academic and leadership roles, including as an Assistant Professor at St. Paul’s Hospital Millennium Medical College (SPHMMC).  Gebre established ENT services in underserved regions, contributed to medical education, and published peer-reviewed research. 

Gebre holds an MD from Gondar College of Medicine and a postgraduate degree in Otolaryngology from SPHMMC. 

She is dedicated to advancing medical practice and education. Her career aspirations focus on conducting hearing loss research, particularly in underserved populations, and providing high-quality clinical care to older patients. Additionally, Gebre is committed to improving the quality of life for people living with disabilities such as hearing loss in the world’s poorest communities. She is mentored by Cochlear Center core faculty Pablo Martinez-Amezcua, MD, Phd, MS.
