Jason R. Smith, MS
Bio
Jason R. Smith earned a Master of Science degree in 2022 via the aging track of the Department of Epidemiology at the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health. He previously worked for several years with the NeuroValue Lab in the Department of Neurology at Massachusetts General Hospital, where his team encouraged him to pursue his interests in epidemiologic research to improve the health of older adults.
He currently studies the contribution of multiple sensory impairments and vascular risk factors to cognitive aging and dementia. He is mentored by Jennifer Deal.
Kening Jiang, MHS
Bio
Kening Jiang, MHS is a PhD student in Epidemiology of Aging and a trainee at the Cochlear Center. She received her MHS degree in Epidemiology from the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health and previously worked as a biostatistician at the Cochlear Center. She is interested in studying the underlying mechanisms of cognitive aging, especially how potentially modifiable factors including sensory loss and sleep disturbances contribute to cognitive decline and dementia among older adults.
Jonathan J. Suen, AuD, PhD
Bio
Jonathan J. Suen, PhD, AuD, is a Research Associate at the Johns Hopkins School of Medicine’s Department of Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery. He is an interdisciplinary audiologist and gerontologist interested in promoting hearing health, healthy aging, and health equity in older populations. He has additional interests in addressing loneliness, social connections, and public health strategies leveraging age-tech.

Laura Sherry, AuD, is a research audiologist in the Department of Otolaryngology-Head & Neck Surgery, Division of Research at the Johns Hopkins University, School of Medicine.
Jami Trumbo, MSPH
Bio
Jami Trumbo, MSPH is the research coordinator for the Baltimore HEARS study and future center research studies. She also partners with the Johns Hopkins Center for Teaching and Learning to develop online versions of the Center’s training programs. Trumbo received her master’s of science in public health in health education and health communication from the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health.
Molly Sheehan
Bio
Molly Sheehan is the first to manage the Cochlear Center's communications efforts, and since Spring 2020 has worked to organize and expand the Center's communications capacity.
Clarice Myers, AuD
Bio
Clarice Myers, AuD is an faculty audiologist in the Department of Otolaryngology-Head & Neck Surgery, Division of Research at the Johns Hopkins University, School of Medicine. Her research interests include the correlation between hearing loss and cognitive decline as well as alternative methods of device delivery models in an inpatient setting. Myers received her clinical doctorate from Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center.
Mindy Dmuchowski, PMP
Bio
As Academic Program Administrator, Mindy Dmuchowski manages the day-to-day operations of the Cochlear Center and works closely with Center leadership on developing and planning all Center-initiated academic training programs/courses and other academic initiatives. She received her Bachelor’s degree in Communication Studies from West Virginia University.
